 Language puts male and female into many distinct pair. Man & Women, Lad & Lass For animals, Horse & Mare But watch out for the bias. It's all on the male side, Why is 'master' used to praise And 'mistress' to deride ? Why does 'bachelor' sound good. While 'spinster' can only amuse ? Why is 'dog' at worst neutral. And 'bitch' a term of abuse ? |
